Second time here! Really love their Soondubu. My wife and I usually split a combo and get another Soondubu and that's plenty of food! You shouldn't have to worry about parking. I came here after 6 when the restaurant was packed but was seated in less than 20 mins and the service was fast! Highly recommend!
0-10 Scale Food taste- 10 Cleanliness- 10 Attire- casual Atmosphere- relax and chill Parking- Parking lot with alot of parking Price- $6-32 I would recommend this place if you like Korean soups and dishes. Very chilled and affordable with street view of poeple.
It was moderately busy during a Friday lunch around 12pm and we were seated immediately. Service was friendly and prompt. Water was brought to the table immediately. We ordered two soon tofus, one with veggie dumplings and one with kimchi. It was very flavorful and came out fast. There were 6 dishes of banchan; I wish there were a few more. It's a little pricey, yet it's West LA and to be expected. There is a small parking lot out front. The ambiance is simple, modern and clean.
Came here to eat on a Saturday afternoon. The service was efficient and everything came out really fast. As for the food, I will say there's nothing standout about their soondubu, but it definitely scratches the itch and was a good meal all around. There's a good selection of side dishes as well. My vegan friend gave the vegetable soondubu (w/ water broth) a vegan stamp of approval!
This place always has a long waitlist. Parking is tight here too, but worth the wait. Sides were good. Beef Jap chae was really flavorful compared to other places, highly recommend. Hot stone bibimbap was really good. I wish there was a little more beef, but it was super filling none the less. There's two personal bathrooms, definitely could be cleaned periodically throughout the day as there was toilet paper on the floor and what not. I'm not a big fan of sundubu, so maybe this place will be even better for you if you do like it.
This place is satisfies my Korean food fix in the west side. The service was very attentive. The sides were a little too sweet for me. I ordered the Kalbi, soon-du-bu, and bim bim bap in the hot stone. I liked this the rice gets crispy in the hot stone. Kalbi could have been cooked a little longer and less sugar. But overall the experience was nice on a rainy day.
A good deal for some good tofu soup and bibimbap! I used to come here more often when I lived in the area and the combo deal is my favorite to bring my friends and try tofu soup with! The ingredients are fresh, the banchan is refilled often (so nice), and the bibimbap is TOO good. If you want a nicer edge to your bibimbap, definitely try the hot stone, it makes the rice crispy at the ends which is really yummy! In general, make sure to park in the garage next to the sunright less than .3 miles from the restaurant, it's really the least hassle method to get parking in Sawtelle. It's also a nice walk back after you've stuffed your face with tofu soup and all the banchan. Awesome restaurant, will be back again~
Came here for dinner on a weekday night and it wasn't too busy. The staff was efficient and quick and taking my order and bringing out the side dishes. I ordered a combo with tofu soup and a bibimbap because it was a much better deal!! I ended up having a large portion of the bibimbap as takeout for lunch the next day because it was ALOT of food. It was very worth it though!! The side dishes were delicious as well. I would say this spot is comparable to other tofu soup chains in LA/OC like BCD tofu house and A Ri Rang, etc. This place does have better deals for combo though. Parking can be tough in the Sawtelle area overall, but street parking is plenty if you're willing to walk and pay the meters. I think they have a valet parking too.
I live about 5 minutes from Sawtelle and Seoul House of Tofu is where I go when I am looking for quick and decent soon dubu without making a trek out to Ktown. When it comes to parking, the lot can be a bit of a nightmare due to the busy Sawtelle location, so I like going during the weekday when it's not so crazypants there. Walking in, the restaurant itself is chill. The food comes out quickly and the portions are generous enough. The quality of the food is also good, standard. I wouldn't say it's the best, most fantastic place, but it'll satisfy my cravings! The service is good and it's usually easy to find a seat, even when it's busy. The thing about Korean food on the westside is that it is freaking pricey!!! We ordered the pajeon (Korean pancake) and a galbi/soondubu combo. The pajeon was $17 (insane to me) and the combo meal was $30.. but HEY, they know there's a demand for it on the westside and can get away with those prices! My favorite part about dining on Sawtelle though is after my meal, I usually treat myself to some boba, ice cream, or egg pancakes (all of which are sold in the neighboring businesses). Despite the high prices and high-traffic area, I will likely come back to this restaurant many many times.
Really good tofu spot on Sawtelle! Parking is a bit of a hassle, they have a small lot that's usually full and street parking is hit and miss, they do have valet as a last resort. Service is quick and the food is solid! Ordered the beef Japchae and seafood pancake for the table, also ordered but not pictured was the bulgolgi, and spicy chicken, for myself I got the Kimchi Sundubu. We had 10 at the table, with the banchan, shared plates and individual tofus we were stuffed! All really good food, if you really love spicy, I recommend getting the Spicy or greater level, the spicy was super flavorful and not over the top.
